The port number is 631, which is CUPS. So it's trying to connect to a
CUPS server. This is fixed in 1.1.3-3 (I know, you have powerpc and
can't use it !) by trying to connect to CUPS in a separate thread.
You can work around it for now by turning CUPS support back off.
Uncomment this line in /etc/openoffice/openoffice.conf:
export SAL_DISABLE_CUPS=1
