Yup, looks like your 1.1.2 packages don't have this bug either.  No
crashes on save dialogue.

Interestingly, pressing 'tab' in the save dialogue attempts to save
immediately with this version, with whatever filename you have there,
unless it is a valid directory name.  This seems to me fairly
counterintuitive--I would expect either tab would take me to the next
button, or that it would attempt to complete what I was typing.  It will
descend into a directory if I have a real directory name there, otherwise
it just tries to save.

There is also no "autocompletion" in "save as" like there is in "open."
Maybe this is an intentional design consideration to prevent accidental
overwriting of files, but it would be nice to have the same
autocompletion with "save as" at least with respect to directory names.
