Package: openoffice.org-debian-files Version: 1.1.1-2+2 Severity: important Hello, Please remove the line 231 from /usr/bin/openoffice. The line says: LC_CTYPE="$LOCALE" It is LC_CTYPE and *NOT* LANG or LC_ALL, that is authoritative about default charset used on the system. I have just checked and removing the line *DOES WORK* (contrary to the comment above it). In addition, openoffice spits out this warning here: I18N: Operating system doesn't support locale "" with or without the line mentioned above. But it works correctly otherwise. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.5 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=cs_CZ Versions of packages openoffice.org-debian-files depends on: ii debianutils 2.8.1 Miscellaneous utilities specific t ii openoffice.org 1.1.1-2 high-quality office productivity s ii openoffice.org-bin 1.1.1-2 OpenOffice.org office suite binary -- no debconf information ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jan 'Bulb' Hudec <bulb@ucw.cz>
