Please run openoffice from the console and reproduce this crash, and
post the console output to the bug report.

We had a similar problem recently where the reporter was able to work
around it by running as root too. Please do the following:
1. Uninstall openoffice.org, openoffice.org-bin, openoffice.org-l10n-en,
openoffice.org-debian-files, openoffice.org-help-* (and any dependencies
necessary).
2. Rename /usr/lib/openoffice to /usr/lib/openoffice.old
3. Reinstall the openoffice.org package and dependencies.
4. Try again. If the problem is solved, please send me the contents of
/usr/lib/openoffice.org for me to try and reproduce the problem here.
