retitle 234044 Segmentation fault with libaoss.so preloaded submitter 234044 ! thanks (I'll let you guys decide whether to re-assign the bug to alsa-oss, or reprioritize it, or whatnot.) I found what was causing my crash. It only happens when LD_PRELOAD (or ld.so.preload) contains /usr/lib/libaoss.so. (The library that ALSA provides as a wrapper to replace the OSS sound functions). So for the time being, libaoss.so has been removed from my /etc/ld.so.preload (BTW, I'm also disabling the guest account on my system again.) -- I usually have a GPG digital signature included as an attachment.
