Bug#174657: openoffice.org: Spellcheck does not treat em-dashes (and others) as word separators
Package: openoffice.org
Version: 1.0.1-7
Severity: normal
The spellchecker has a problem parsing certain special characters. It treats
each instance below like one long word, and thus a spelling error...
em-dashes: with autocorrect enabled type "first--second "
non-breaking dashes: "first<shift+ctrl+->second "
en-dashes: with autocorrect enabled type "first - second "; then remove
space between the words and the en-dash
ellipses: "first...second "; this happens with either three periods or
the ellipsis character.
It looks like some of this was fixed upstream a while ago. See openoffice
issue #'s 2583 and 3453.
