That part of openoffice is still broken.
This issue arose a few weeks ago on the openoffice.org user and/or
discuss mailing lists. It would be a good idea to subscribe those, at
list while the product doesn't reach a more mature stage.

I suspect one of the reasons is that there's no dictatorship as to how
all the parts of the system should work. The price to pay for freedom...
