I tested it on my IBook .. I do not have this problem.
I see, you have openoffice.org-bin-6rc1. 

Please update and to openoffice.org-bin-6 ...
You can find it, if it do not come over the debian-mirrors, here:

http://bourbaki.math.uni-kiel.de/~jpalic/OpenOffice.org (not
apt-getable).

Do you have the problem then too?
