Unable to allocate memory: to make array

Hi!

I have a problem with memory allocation.
I would like to plot data coming from images. I saved the data of each image
as an ASCII file ("file.txt") and so I have integer arrays with dimensions
(8272,6892).

I have a small IDL program to plot them, but when I run it, I always get the
error: "Unable to allocate memory: to make array".

How can deal with these files and be able to have enough memory to work with
them, plotting values etc.?
Could you please help me in this giving me the procedure to allocate memory?

Thank you very much for you help!
