[Pkg-octave-devel] octave package almost Lintian-clean

The octave package, version 4.0.1~rc2-1 now in experimental, is almost Lintian-clean [1], thanks to heavy overriding. There are still three warnings left:

   I: spelling-error-in-binary usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/octave/4.0.1-rc2/oct/i586-pc-linux-gnu/__magick_read__.oct unknow unknown

I reported this problem [2] and it has been fixed upstream [3]. However, the fix was not included into the 4.0.1-rc2 tarball.

   X: binary-file-built-without-LFS-support usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/octave/4.0.1-rc2/liboctgui.so.1.0.0
   X: shlib-calls-exit usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/octave/4.0.1-rc2/liboctgui.so.1.0.0

These are upstream problems as well and I guess that we can do very little about them. Besides that, these Lintian tags are tagged experimental ("X"). Should we report these issues upstream or simply override the Lintian warnings?
