I think the first part of the error message is the culprit (I tested it
on gabrielli (mips porterbox). The test script allocates 10e8 random
numbers and then works with them.
I will investigate further, but I am inclined to reduce the amount of
random numbers anyway - I don't think you can see an error with 10e8
number that you cannot see with 10e6 numbers.
