Package:  Octave3.2

Version:   3.2.4-8

I used the debian synaptic package manager to install octave. Unfortunately, it crashes whenever I invoke even a simple matrix multiply. Something is clearly missing.

I'm running debian version 6.0.6, Gnu Desktop version 2.30.2  and linux kernel 2.6.32-5-686.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Bill Ludescher

Thanks for tracking this down. My processor only supports SSE instructions, not SSE2. Uninstalling libatlas3gf-base solved my problem but I'll have to study the suggested debian documentation to better understand what was going on here.

Great. I am hereby closing this bug report.

Rafael
