I made a quick review of the package, and I would suggest the following changes: - add the pristine-tar branch in the git repository; we use this feature in all packages of the Debian Octave Group (all our packages are built using the --git-pristine-tar option of git-buildpackage) - mention Octave in the long description of the package and in the manpage (maybe every time MATLAB is mentionned) - make a more informative short description (should mention Octave/MATLAB) - remove the alternative build-dependency on octave3.2-headers; if you want to create backports, it is better practice to create dedicated branch for this purpose (like squeeze-backports branch or Ubuntu-specific branches) - if possible, create a debian/watch file > I have also request to join the Octave Group. I have added you to the project. The git repository should be installed on git.octave.org under the directory /git/pkg-octave/mrwrap.git. You should already have the necessary permissions, but don't hesitate to request help if needed. Also, you should install the post-receive hook which sends commit notifications to the pkg-octave-commit list (see the other repositories to see how to do that). Concerning sponshorship, I cannot sponsor the initial upload since I am a DM. If you want me to be able to sponsor subsequent uploads, you can add me to the Uploaders field and I will happily do so. There is a DD in the group, Thomas Weber, who may sponsor your initial upload (Thomas: are you willing to do that when the packaging is ready?)
