Understood.  I suggest that you do try DSA on the offchance that the
official Alpha porterbox "albeniz" is still available.

If albeniz has been decommissioned then an unofficial Alpha porterbox
will need to be made available to Debian Developers, however I
personally can't attend to that for at least three weeks.

I had wondered myself if the problem may actually be octave-octcdf's use
of -mieee!
