The package buils correctly and is lintian clean, but there are 3
failures in the testsuite:
1) princomp.m: this failure is expected
2) tbl_delim.m: this is because the file is under private/ subdir, and
octave-pkg-dev does not deal with this
3) linkage.m: this failure is spurious, because the tests pass when I run
"test linkage" after installing the package. But if you put this in a
M-file:
warning foo
test linkage
Then this M-file fails: it is as if the first warning was corrupting
the test which is performed in linkage. In the package testsuite, it
is the warning created by princomp which interferes with the test in
linkage. I guess this is a bug in Octave, unless you have a better
explanation.
So on the overall I think the package is ok and can be uploaded. We have
to think about solutions for 2) and 3).
For 2), I suggest to file a bug against octave-pkg-dev until we have the
time to work this out (probably after the 3.4 transition).
Any suggestion for 3) ?
Best,
