Before removing it, would you consider posting a message to the
help@octave.org list asking whether anyone (or group) would like to
start maintaining it? Maybe the message should also go to the
maintainers@octave.org and octave-dev@lists.sourceforge.net lists.
OTOH, maybe we should just let it die and try to get more effort put
into the OpenGL-based graphics code for core Octave.
