Subject: octaviz examples

Message-ID: <20061123162433.GC5037@chumley.earth.sol>

Rafael,
when I played with octaviz, some of the demo files did not work:

octave:3> vtk_rainbow
ERROR: In /build/buildd/vtk-5.0.1/IO/vtkPLOT3DReader.cxx, line 108
vtkPLOT3DReader (0x228d8f0): File: /usr/share/vtkdata/Data/combxyz.bin not found.

octave:4> vtk_demo_xy_plot
error: `vtkXYPlotWidget' undefined near line 59 column 5
error: evaluating assignment expression near line 59, column 3
error: near line 59 of file /usr/share/doc/octaviz/examples/vtk_demo_xy_plot.m'

octave:5> vtk_image_demo
ERROR: In /build/buildd/vtk-5.0.1/IO/vtkPNGReader.cxx, line 43
vtkPNGReader (0x277a9d0): Unable to open file /usr/share/vtkdata/Data/fullhead15.png

I think these errors (3 and 5) are due to a changed directory name:
/usr/share/VTKData/Data/fullhead15.png

I did not try all examples, but those that worked are pretty impressive
already.

Christian

   * Changed 60-vtkdata-path, to warn if vtkdata package is not installed
(Closes: 400071). This change is quite small and we think it is worth
to have this version in etch, just in case it is ellegible for testing
     before the etch freeze.
