Package: octaviz
Version: 0.4.0-10
Severity: important

This is perhaps a vtk bug, but I am unable to file it intelligibly
against vtk.

In octave, execute one of the octaviz demos, say

    octave:1> ClipCow

Resize the resulting window to be larger than the displayed figure, a
factor of three seems to be adequate. The window then starts resizing
itself and flashing with repaints. The only way I have found to
interact with anything else is to iconize the window, which seems to
stop the viewer process.

This only happens when the viewer window is resized from one of the
upper corners.

I'm using sawfish, btw, in case it matters:

ii sawfish 1.3+cvs2005070 a window manager for X11

The current theme is gradient.

After this octaviz resize problem, sawfish and octave both exhibit
strange behaviors. In octave a repeated call to open a viewer window
(ClipCow, for example) fails silently. In sawfish the window focus is
not properly indicated (all windows have title bars with inactive
highlighting) and the middle mouse button pop-up menu on the desktop
no longer appears until I execute (restart) in sawfish-client.
