Well, the changes break the build (or I did something wrong, which is
entirely possible):
===========================================================================
dh_installdirs /usr/share/doc/octaviz /usr/lib/octave/site/oct/api-v13/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu /usr/share/octave/site/m
find /home/weber/debian/packages/octaviz-0.4.0/debian/octaviz -name \*.m
| xargs -if chmod -x f
mv
`find /home/weber/debian/packages/octaviz-0.4.0/debian/octaviz/usr/share/octave -name Examples` /home/weber/debian/packages/octaviz-0.4.0/debian/octaviz/usr/share/doc/octaviz/examples
mv: missing file argument
Try `mv --help' for more information.
make: *** [binary-install/octaviz] Error 1
===========================================================================

(The same happened on an i386 system).

I would suggest the following: we revert the switch to CDBS for the
moment, integrate your patches and the switch to /usr/lib/octaviz and
get a new octaviz out for unstable.

CDBS is currently broken (#342892), so we don't gain anything by using
it.
