Thanks, that's useful (I've been doing the same for old GNOME libraries
that depend on GTK 2). It might be helpful to deprecate lablgtk2 more
formally, or otherwise give dependent packages a hint that they should
be using lablgtk3 in their porting.

Can you tell how many dependent packages would be broken by that change?

If none actually use lablgtk2's gtkspell support, maybe it would be good
to disable it in the next upload. (No hurry to upload just for that.)
If you do, please unblock #967849 and remove the gtkspell usertag.

If it isn't straightforward to tell, I think there's no need to do that
right now; but if we reach a point where lablgtk2 is the only significant
package still using gtkspell, it will become more important at that point.
