I don't think we are going to receive any answer (at least soon) on the sectioning thread for where to install ocamldoc generated documentation in the doc-base hierarchy. In the meantime a simple solution can be to provide a cgi-bin in the ocaml package which parses the content of /usr/share/doc-base/ and keep only entries matching a given naming convention. The one I've adopted in the CDBS class is "PKGNAME-ocamldoc-api-reference", for example pcre-ocaml leads to "libpcre-ocaml-dev-ocamldoc-api-reference". What about it? We need to decide a standard naming since not all packages in our repo are using CDBS. With that fixed we will be free to change in the future the section, if ever the issue get solved. I will draft a simple CGI parsing that soon. The alternative solution would be to add to our packages some postinst/prerm script which maintains a static HTML page with the index of ocaml API references. We can delegate that to dh_ocaml, in the meantime I've no better idea than the CGI ...
