As some of you have probably noticed, my woody backport repository is out of data since a while. The main reasons is that I've changed laptop switching from an i386 to a powerpc architecture and I need to reconfigure repositories handling system to handle both architectures. I'm almost finished, though: in a few days I will be able to support woody again. In spite of that, handling backported packages is going to be each day more difficult because packages started depending on new debhelper/debconf packages. My proposal is to put as a requirement for using the woody backport repository the availability of such packages on the woody system. There are a lot of unofficial apt repositories offering such packages for woody (notably the Adrian Bunk's). Do you think it's an eccessive requirement? The alternative is to manually backport packages to debhelper/debconf/whatever and I don't know if I can afford doing that ... Cheers. -- Stefano Zacchiroli -- Master in Computer Science @ Uni.
