I support Yifei Zhan <yifei@zhan.science>'s request to become a Debian Developer, uploading.
I have worked with Yifei Zhan in the Debian Rust Team, on webtunnel and on evremap.
I consider them as having sufficient technical competence.
Since March 2025 I sponsored the rust crates they worked on. If any minor issues occurred, they were quick
to address them. Their work with the Debian Rust team was always pleasant to review and sponsor. I also
sponsored their standalone packaing of evremap and webtunnel. They also were quick to fix minor issues with those
packages, and overall pleasant to interact with.
They started working on rnote, for which I also sponsored their packaging of its dependencies.
I have personally worked with Yifei Zhan <yifei@zhan.science>
(key 9284B15F1D56DD78BC1B62B157D77C19CCFD1EF8) since March 2025, and I know Yifei Zhan
can be trusted to be a full member of Debian, and have unsupervised, unrestricted upload rights, right now.
