For nm.debian.org, at 2025-05-12:
I support Matheus Polkorny <mpolkorny@gmail.com>'s request to become a Debian Maintainer.
I have worked with Matheus Polkorny on rsync, libsmb2, hashrat, curl, medusa, and others,
for 1 year and I consider them as having sufficient technical competence.
Polkorny started contributing as part of the Debian Brasil mentorship program
in May 2024, I was the advocate for his first package back then.
He's a frequent participant of the mentorship weekly calls, having had a short
time-off but returning in November.
Polkorny wasn't shy of working on difficult problems such as writing the whole
DEP-3 d/copyright file for the rsync package. His work there was thorough and
exposed many uncertainties around how we are supposed to deal with a few cases.
Once he worked on this, I've noticed he started reviewing other people's
d/copyright files and spotting issues that other DDs would (maybe even some
that DDs would have missed).
Polkorny knows the etiquette and how to approach upstream developers, he doesn't
need help forwarding patches and has coordinated improvements to the medusa
package with upstream.
I have reviewed at least one NMU, one stable-proposed-update (CVE fix) and one
NEW package.
I'm happy that he's applying to be DM and I hope to see him become a DD soon.
I have personally worked with Matheus Polkorny <mpolkorny@gmail.com>
(key 7110FF7C72ED772A5447628A4A1CA85A38FBEE5A) for 1 year, and I know Matheus Polkorny
can be trusted to have upload rights for their own packages, right now.
