Teus Benschop: Advocate

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA512

I support Teus Benschop <teusjannette@gmail.com>'s request to become
Debian Maintainer.

I have personally worked with Teus Benschop <teusjannette@gmail.com>
(key 85EAFEE5CF2CD500736BD8DE93022BAD0563A51D) since he became part of
the pkg-crosswire team in 2011.

Since becoming active, with the exception of a bit of a break around
2013-14, Teus has been a key contributor to the packaging and
maintenance of several packages. He has demonstrated excellent technical
ability related to a variety of Debian packaging tasks:

 - Packaging new upstream releases of bibletime, which was already under
   team maintenance
 - Creating the new bibledit-xiphos and bibledit-bibletime packages
 - Fixing bugs in and preparing packages of new upstream releases for
the bibledit-gtk package, as well as managing its replacement by the
   bibledit package

In addition to demonstrating good packaging skills, Teus has been very
open to guidance from the experienced Debian Developer members of the
pkg-crosswire group. He has a very professional and collegial
disposition in his communications, making interactions with him
pleasant.

I have no doubt that Teus is committed to improving Debian through his
contributions to the project. The increased privileges that he will gain
as a Debian Maintainer will allow him to better contribute to the
project by allowing him to work on the pkg-crosswire packages without
the level of supervision which is currently required. This will result
in more timely updates of the team's packages as uploads will not be
blocked by the inability of one of the DD team members to quickly review
the work.
