Sean Whitton: Advocate

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA256

I strongly support Sean Whitton <spwhitton@spwhitton.name>'s request to become
Debian Developer, uploading.
I have worked with Sean Whitton on a lot of packages/RFS for a lot of time
and I would like to see him doing uploads alone, because he has understood
completely what Debian is, and I would like to see him part of the community.

I have personally worked with Sean Whitton <spwhitton@spwhitton.name>
(key 8DC2487E51ABDD90B5C4753F0F56D0553B6D411B) for one year or so,
and I know Sean Whitton can be trusted to be a full member of Debian,
and have unsupervised, unrestricted upload rights, right now.

Side note: it took a lot of time for him to become DM, because of gpg
signatures missing. He should have been a DM for 6 months, and now we
should be at 5 months.
I'm *really* happy to break my personal policy for one months,
because he is doing an AWESOME work on d-haskell, QA uploads,
RFS mentorings, WNPP bugs, NMU uploads, and ~50 packages well
maintained in main.

He has a strong haskell knowledge, a strong emacs knowledge,
and many times I find difficult to even understand his changes,
ending up in giving him DM privileges for some packages and trusting his work.

He also maintains some nice dh-* addons such as dh-elpa, dh-make-elpa,
mozilla-devscripts and I don't even remember how many more.

I positively remember one of his first contributions
(not sure if it was the first, but this one is impressed in my memory):
many people were trying to get ublock/ublock-origin packaged in Debian,
and I was putting some effort in cleaning up the package, fixing, and
making it good for Debian policy (and also following the mozilla
packaging procedures).
At the end we were stuck, about choosing the best fork,
packaging issues and some more problems.
He went through the RFS bug, cleaned up the package, got it sponsored in
really little time (3 days) with no changes/nitpicks, and became a great
Maintainer suddenly after that first package.
The Debian community will benefit a lot from his contributions, please let him in.
