In the last two years or so he have been collaborating in debian-java team helping to fix critical and security bugs and preparing and backporting fixes for packages in stable. I have been sponsoring several uploads for him and I don't remember having any observation or complaint on that regard. Also, their strengths are not only in the technical side, his communication skills are pretty good, I think. His communications with another people in the project are always respectful.
