I'd like to support Eugene's intent to become Debian Maintainer. His
work within the Debian java team has proven his understanding of free
software, and at the same time very good understanding of java
packaging.
I have seen him learning on a regular basis since he first introduced
himself to the Debian java community [1]. I now trust him to make good
packages on a technical basis, that I can almost blindly upload. He has
also proven to be very re-active to ftpmaster comment on non-free
license [2], and cleaned-up packages accordingly to make them dfsg
compliant.
I believe Eugene is now ready to upload package by himself.

Thanks,
-M
