I believe that Floris Bruynooghe has the technical skills needed to
maintain Debian packages. I support his application to become a Debian
maintainer, because he's doing a great job on omniORB packages.
I started working with Floris back in 2007, when he sent updates to the
Debian package, by then outdated. He setup the new SVN repo and thanks
to his work packages are now in very good shape and recent. He has very
good communication skills (e.g. discussing with upstream to integrate
Debian changes) and his technical knowledge helped improving packaged
software (e.g. removing a deprecated usage of raise "string" in Python
omniORBpy code).
