Dear Newmaint, I advocate the application of Kai Wasserbäch r become a Debian Maintainer, I have worked with Kai for over 6 months in the team maintenance of the kvirc and skanlite packages within the kde-extras team. Kai's work with both of these packages and the kde-extras team has been excellent and the good maintenance state of both of these packages is due to Kai's hardwork and persistance in resolution of issues and team work. I welcome him to Debian and feel he has more to contribute by being a Debian Maintainer. Mark ---------- Forwarded Message ---------- Subject: Request for advocacy (Debian Maintainer) [Fwd: Debian Maintainer application for Kai Wasserbäch] Date: Wednesday 24 February 2010 From: Kai Wasserbäch <debian@carbon-project.org> To: Mark Purcell <msp@debian.org>, Patrick Matthäi <pmatthaei@debian.org> Dear Mark, dear Patrick, I've sent my application for becoming a Debian Maintainer to debian-newmaint and would now like to kindly ask you, to advocate my application. You can find my e-mail in the list archives at [0] or below. If you should have questions, please feel free to ask me and I'll try to provide any kind of information as soon as possible. My GnuPG key is currently only signed by Erik Schanze but I hope to increase the number for DD signatures at this years CeBIT; Jan Dittberner has offered to sign my key by private e-mail. In any case, a second trust path might be the signature of the Heise CA [1] (for Mark: Heise is the publisher of the most distinguished German IT magazines like the c't (first published in October 1983) or the iX). Thank you in advance for considering my application! Kind regards, Kai Wasserbäch [0] http://lists.debian.org/debian-newmaint/2010/02/msg00052.html [1] http://www.heise.de/security/dienste/Krypto-Kampagne-2111.html -------- Original-Nachricht -------- Message-ID: <4B841B64.1030702@carbon-project.org> Date: Tue, 23 Feb 2010 19:16:04 +0100 From: Kai Wasserbäch <debian@carbon-project.org> To: debian-newmaint@lists.debian.org Subject: Debian Maintainer application for Kai Wasserbäch This is my declaration of intent to become a Debian Maintainer <URL:http://wiki.debian.org/DebianMaintainer>. I have read the Social Contract, Debian Free Software Guidelines and Debian Machine Usage Policy and agree with all of them. Currently, I maintain the package plasma-widget-yawp and I co‐maintain the packages KVIrc and Skanlite. Before that I was active in the German translation team and did for example the cryptsetup or ikiwiki translations. In the current release cycle (Squeeze) I've also fixed an RC bug in ossp-uuid. Apart from that I'm helping in the KDE team as my time allows (did some work on kde4libs 4.4). My GnuPG key 0xE1DE59D2 is signed by the Debian Developer Erik Schanze. I look forward to becoming a Debian Maintainer. Thanks for your attention.
