Andreas is upstream of the BALL suite for molecular dynamics and general editing
of DNA/RNA/protein structures. He heads a research group on bioinformatics,
has a very strong background also in computer graphics, probably also elsewhere,
and ... (most importantly) ... did a very nice job in preparing the Debian packages for
BALL. Andreas is very easy to communicate with - friendly, constructive, self-motivated
and reliable.

Obviously, his initial major objective for his maintainer status is the immediate
availability of new BALL releases for Debian. Given the complexity of the package and its
long build time, this is already a considerable contribution to our distribution. More
long-termish, also with my Debian Med hat on, it is the anticipation of Debian as a
scientific computing workhorse and scientific community with all its unpredictable
consequences in terms of novel collaborations and ideas that we are interested in, so
please allow Andreas to actively team up with us.
