studying computer science.

His first short contact with Linux was many years ago when he tried
a rather unknown distribution with kernel 1.0. Actually he started
using Linux when Woody was frozen and is using Debian nearly
exclusively since.

3. Philosophy and Procedures
-----------------------------

Carsten has a good knowledge of Debian's philosophy and procedures
and answered all my questions about the social contract,
DFSG, BTS, etc. in a good way. Carsten committed to uphold the SC and DFSG
in his Debian work and accepts the DMUP.

4. Tasks and Skills
-------------------

Carsten has a good understanding of the technical side of Debian.
He is maintainer of deborphan, hnb, pal and very active otherwise.
He also answered my other questions regarding T&S without any problems
and provided patches for RC bugs.
His social skills are great and it is a pleasure to communicate with him.

5. Recommendation
-----------------

I recommend to accept Carsten as a Debian Developer.
