Applicant writes:
I have been working on Linux for 8 years. I knew Linux on the University
and I loved it since the fist time. However, my first contact with
Debian was 3 years ago and my mind changed. Debian is the rock star in
the Linux world.
I had experience as user, admin and developer before I came to Debian,
but Debian teached me how the things can be amused and easy without
losing stability and strenght.
I'm Computer Engineering with Master Degree in Computer Science [1].
I'm the maintainer (for the moment) two Debian packages[2]: Idesk[3] and
njam [4]. I said for the moment, because I want to be the mantainer for
more packages in a near future. In addition, I'm the upstream developer
for Idesk.
I have some projects on line [5]. My compromise with the free software
is strong. I have learned from other people (people how Gunnar Wolf
arrange to help) and I have tried to teach to other people.
I believe in the free software. I feel the better way to share the
knowledge is releasing the source. Another thing is help to the people
to use the software (my software or another free software) and teach to
them. I knew this before I came to Debian and I know this now. The
Social Contract is just the confirmation for my convictions.

He the upstream author of his package and AFAIK, he plans to
maintain it in debian.

have been very respectful and polite.
3. Philosophy and Procedures
-----------------------------
Anibal has a good understanding of Debian's philosophy and procedures
and answered all my questions about the social contract,
DFSG, BTS, etc. in a good way. He committed to uphold the SC and DFSG
in his Debian work and accepts the DMUP.
4. Tasks and Skills
-------------------
Anibal has a good understanding of the technical side of Debian.
He is maintainer of chbg, gsetroot, idesk, and njam. Additionally, I
just sponsored uploads for centerim (replacement of centericq) and
pidgin-sipe, a plugin for pidgin (ex-GAIM) that are now in NEW.
All packages are in good shape.
Anibal also answered my other questions regarding T&S without problems
and provided patches for RC bugs.
5. Recommendation

I recommend to accept Anibal as a Debian Developer.
