1. Identification & Background
------------------------------
The applicant writes about himself:
I am currently a math major in the University of Turku, in Finland,
nearing graduation.
My initial contact with GNU/Linux came in around 1997 when I installed
Redhat on my computer. My initial interest in free software was
technical, but I soon discovered the philosophical side of it and
found it agreeable. I moved to use Debian around 1999 with Slink,
largely attracted by Debian's community based developement model.
To me, being part of a community is a major motivation for working on
free software. I find the immediate feedback and equality
invigorating.
My contributions to Debian have so far primarily consisted of package
maintenance and sending the occasional patch to other maintainers. I
largely intend to keep on doing the same in the future.

2. Philosophy and Procedures
-----------------------------
Kari has a good understanding of Debian's philosophy and procedures. He
answered all questions about DFSG, SC, BTS, etc. in a good way.
3. Tasks and Skills
-------------------
Kari maintains crossfire, crossfire-client, crossfire-client-images,
crossfire-maps, crossfire-maps-small, gearhead, gecode, preload,
terraform and droidbattles.
I've reviewed crossfire, terraform and droidbattles and they are in good
shape. He answered all T&S questions fine.
4. Recommendation
-----------------
I recommend to accept Kari as a Debian developer.
I've contacted his sponsors, Aníbal Monsalve Salazar and Amaya Rodrigo Sastre,
and they both recommend to accept him as well.
Kari was advocated by Jaakko Niemi.
