It doesn't help for DAM/FD work, but maybe the AM recruitment (which I
understand is a problem as well) could resort to training people by
doing the AM process in pairs. I don't think that this would add much of
a burden to the existing AMs and after a go or two you'd have a new AM.
Just an idea, though, probably not too original (but not mentioned
during the last few rounds of this discussion either)...
