Ah. Ive also added another mail template, nm_advocate.txt, with a few points one may ask the sponsors and the advocate to get some more information. (Maybe thats something for the initial advocate mail. Martin?)

Could you please change the wording of that last to be gender-neutral. That
way people won't need to worry about forgetting to change it, or getting it
wrong, especially in the case of the less obviously gendered names.

I suggest this:

****************************************************************
Hello NAME,

You have either advocated the NM application or sponsored packages of
NM_NAME whom I have been appointed for as Application Manager. Due to
your cooperation with the applicant, you probably know much more about them
than I do. Thus, I would like to ask you to give me a short overview about:

        1) How the cooperation between you both has worked so far
        2) How they handle their tasks
        3) How they handle problems
        4) Their social skills (How do they treat users? Other developers?)
        5) Whether they are reliable or not

(Your reply will probably get included verbatim in the final report)

I thank you in advance for your answers.
****************************************************************

Another alternative would be this:

****************************************************************
Hello NAME,

You have either advocated the NM application or sponsored packages of
NM_NAME whom I have been appointed for as Application Manager. Since you
have already worked together, you are probably better able to assess
NM_NAME's skills at the following:

        1) Cooperation
        2) Handling technical tasks
        3) Handling problems
        4) Social skills, including treatment of users and interaction with
other developers.
        5) Reliability

I would like you to give a short overview about these things.

I thank you in advance for your answers.

Thanks :)

Helen.
