If your package can still work reasonably without the presence of another
package, then it doesn't really depend on it. If the glue required for using
alsa, and whatever other libraries is fairly small, then there's no sense in
splitting it out into a seperate package. If you do split it out, that
seperate package must depend on both the main package and the associated
libraries it provides glue for, as it's mostly useless without either one.
