Yes.  But doing this will update information faster ;-)

Also this script was meant to indicate that there are multiple
wwwkeys.$xx.pgp.net hosts which people can use with minimum wordings.

I heard that keyserver.net service went proprietary service only for
their PGP client.  That was the reason it should be removed.
