AEBCE71F 2001-08-27 Christian Bayle <bayle@aist.enst.fr> Background ---------- Christian started working with and administering Unix systems in 1985, and at that time was already using free software. He encountered Linux in the pre-1.0 days, eventually settling on Debian as his distribution of choice. Later, he found himself using SourceForge at work, and started contributing back to the free software community by helping Roland Mas with its packaging. From there, he decided to contribute further to Debian. Philosophy & Procedures ----------------------- Christian understands and agrees with Debian's philosophy and the DMUP, and answered all my policy and procedural questions to my satisfaction. Tasks & Skills -------------- Christian already maintains the following packages through sponsors: * php4-mcrypt, sponsored by myself * gatos (gatos, libgatos0, libgatos-dev), adopted from Johnie Ingram, sponsored by Raphael Hertzog * ibtk (libibtk0, libibtk-dev), sponsored by Raphael Hertzog He has also contributed to the sourceforge packaging, and has crystalspace packages sponsored by Roland Mas waiting for ftpmaster's approval. He has listened to and accepted my suggestions for improving his work. I'm happy that his skills are sufficient to become a Debian developer. Recommendation -------------- I recommend that Christian be accepted as a Debian maintainer. Debian login: bayle Forwarding email: bayle@aist.enst.fr -- Colin Watson [cjwatson@debian.org]
