AM summary for Chris Boyle

Summary for Chris Boyle <cmb@bluelinux.co.uk>

Background
^^^^^^^^^^

Chris writes:

I'm in my fifth and final year at Winchester College, England (I'm 17). I was
introduced to Linux shortly after I arrived here by the sysadmin, and to
Debian just over a year ago by a friend here. It didn't take long for Debian
to become my distro of choice and I now use it on all my machines, including
a web server hosting a school software library which I run. I know C/C++,
Java, Perl and PHP (and a few other languages not so well). Most of what I
know I taught myself by reading books and docs of various forms.

I want to help because I think I can be useful to the project, because, in
the spirit of Free software, I want to "give something back", and because I
will no doubt learn a lot from it.

Philosophy & Procedures
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Chris has answered many questions relating to policy, the BTS, NMUs,
The DFSG etc. He has demonstrated knowledge of the debian lists and
is on many of them.

Tasks & Skills
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Chris has packaged Sapphire (which is already accepted as a package). Apart
from a couple of cosmetic fixes, the packaging was to a very high standard.

He knows about and uses many of the development packages I have suggested to
him.

Recommendation
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

I therefore recommend that Chris Boyle be accepted as a Debian maintainer.
