Wish to become an AM, no DDship

Hi guys,
I'd really like to be an AM, as it was the second most long and
frustrating period for me, and one that everyone can do something about.
However, it's also been made infinitely clear to me that there's no way
I'd pass the DAM, so I withdrew.

To put it in a nutshell, is there any way I can become an AM, without
being a DD?
