Version: 0.8.9.0-openmpt1-2+b1
Severity: wishlist

Dear Maintainer,
shouldn't this be a drop in replacement of libmodplug1? Or i missunderstoud the package?
It shoudn't conflict with it and provide it and the lib have the same name so that programs can find it? Or use the alternatives system?

I don't think this would be a good idea. libopenmpt-modplug1 does not
expose the same internals as libmodplug1. Any reverse dependency of
libmodplug1 that would rely on these internals, would silently break or
worse.
Reverse dependencies of libmodplug1 are encouraged to build against
libopenmpt-modplug-dev instead.
So this is a wontfix.
Cheers
