Package: obs-studio Version: 30.2.3+dfsg-2+b5 Severity: important X-Debbugs-Cc: debian@maat.me Dear Maintainer, Since around 1 week obs started to crash when starting the virtual camer (just click on the button "start virtual camera" on the main interface). The click on this button runs the commande sudo modprobe v4l2loopback exclusive_caps=1 card_label="OBS Virtual Camera" At first click (for example after a reboot of if sudo rmmod whas executed) a password window pops up to type sudo password. If the password is correct obs coredumps. If obs was run from a console you can see this kind of message : > double free or corruption (out) > Abandon (core dumped) After that running again obs and trying to start de virtual camera raises an error but the virtual cam does not activate. And if obs was run from a console you can see this kind of message : > error: Failed to start streaming on '/dev/video6' (Invalid argument) > warning: Failed to start virtual camera I tried to run sudo rmmmod v4l2loopback then sudo sudo modprobe v4l2loopback exclusive_caps=1 card_label="OBS Virtual Camera" then start obs : i fall into the "failed to start" error message I tried to run sudo rmmmod v4l2loopback then run obs then click start virtual cam then type in a console sudo sudo modprobe v4l2loopback exclusive_caps=1 card_label="OBS Virtual Camera" : i fall into coredump case I tried to run sudo rmmmod v4l2loopback then run obs then type in a console sudo sudo modprobe v4l2loopback exclusive_caps=1 card_label="OBS Virtual Camera" (without clicking on the button to start virtual cam) : i fall into coredump case so clicking on the button does not have impact This is really a problem because nowadays with video conferences the virtual cam feature of OBS is one of its most used features. Good luck to investigate this.
