thanks for your reports, and sorry for your frustration. First: obs-studio does not inherently depend on qtwayland5. You (obviously) only need this, if you are running wayland. If you are running a plain X-server (like me), then there is no need to install 'qtwayland5'. Therefore, obs-studio cshould not (hard-) *depend* on 'qtayland5', but instead *recommend* it (at most). Now, obs-studio *depends* on libqt5gui5, which in turn *recommends* qtwayland5. This means, that installing 'obs-studio' on a default system will pull in qtwayland5. problem solved. If you chose to *not* install "recommend"ed packages (which you are of course free to do), then you no longer have a "default system" and insteadare walking on the "expert" road, so should be prepared for minor invoncienceslike this.
