Dear Maintainer,

When running kodi with a particular set of locale settings, kodi UI breaks
severely. The initial screen has no problems but Settings, Movies, TV Shows,
Power menu and many places shows no text, thumbnails or icons. In short,
Kodi becomes unusable.

Moreover there are no visible logs on the console informing about something
being wrong.

Steps to reproduce:

1) Set your locale as follows:

   LANG=tr_TR.UTF-8
   LANGUAGE=en_US
   LC_CTYPE="tr_TR.UTF-8"
   LC_NUMERIC="tr_TR.UTF-8"
   LC_TIME="tr_TR.UTF-8"
   LC_COLLATE="tr_TR.UTF-8"
   LC_MONETARY="tr_TR.UTF-8"
   LC_MESSAGES="tr_TR.UTF-8"
   LC_PAPER="tr_TR.UTF-8"
   LC_NAME="tr_TR.UTF-8"
   LC_ADDRESS="tr_TR.UTF-8"
   LC_TELEPHONE="tr_TR.UTF-8"
   LC_MEASUREMENT="tr_TR.UTF-8"
   LC_IDENTIFICATION="tr_TR.UTF-8"

2) Start Kodi. Will start normally.
3) Select Movies from left menu. Press enter to select.
4) No thumbnails, no text, nothing is usable.

Short Term Workaround
---------------------
If the user sets all Locale variables to en_US.UTF-8, Kodi works as expected.
Systems locale settings are result of KDE's settings, so it's not impossible to
obtain with normal setting up of a system.
