After you activate an addon, adding the source leads you to the directory selection dialog (Root Folder, Home Folder, NFS share etc).
The bottom-most option is 'Add Network Location' giving you an optiin to select HTTP folder, FTP folder etc.
The addon registersitself there as an "SFTP" type. Unfortunately key-based authorization is not supported yet but navigating inside
sftp://xx.xx.xx.xx:xx/yy
will let you selecting the folder on remote SSH server. I just checked it and it works!
