Weird bug in SMPlayer Version: 20.6.0 (revision 9418)

Greetings and happy new year.

I'm using SMPlayer with MPV as my backend.

I play an entire playlist and when it starts, SMPlayer consumes approximately 80(-ish)MB and MPV 70 to 75MB the most.

As soon as it goes on to the next track, SMPlayer's memory jumps straight to 520 to 530MB without any logical explanation.

There are times where my whole system becomes unstable due to the excessive memory consumption.

I'm on GNU / Linux Debian testing 64-bit fully updated on a daily basis.

Here are my specs:

 OS: Linux debian 5.8.0-1-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 5.8.7-1 (2020-09-05) x86_64 GNU/Linux
MPV: mpv 0.32.0 Copyright © 2000-2020 mpv/MPlayer/mplayer2 projects built on UNKNOWN
ffmpeg library versions:
   libavutil 56.51.100
   libavcodec 58.91.100
   libavformat 58.45.100
   libswscale 5.7.100
   libavfilter 7.85.100
   libswresample 3.7.100
ffmpeg version: 4.3.1-5

SMPlayer:

Version: 20.6.0 (revision 9418)
Using Qt 5.15.2 (compiled with Qt 5.14.2)
Using MPV 0.32.0
