Dear Maintainer,

*** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate ***

   * What led up to the situation?
   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?
   * What was the outcome of this action?
   * What outcome did you expect instead?

* A new major version of handbrake is going to appear officially soon in
  Debian bulls-eye
* x2goserver has been included into the upcoming release:
  https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=984721
* filing this report against x2go server had an effect already, as reported
there, but this changed nothing about the handbrake queue issue
* according to my experience with handbrake, also on FreeBSD, it should do one
transcoding-job in the queue after the other, not only one job per x2go-
  login
* this might be a complex so-called Heisenbug, resulting from the combination
of newly included x2go package and new upcoming debian version of handbrake
* you know Debianers, I am enjoying the debate quite a lot, and in my smart,
intelligent, communicative, cooperative and generous way I want to try
out a differential analysis in the way described there:
  https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=984721
by using the upstream package version of x2go, if this changes something
about the situation, it would no longer be a Heisenbug, otherwise it would
be a pure problem with handbrake itself, and not merely a configuration
  issue according to my estimation

So far you have failed to provide the handbrake logs that have been
requested by Christian. You're also using dmo packages, which we do not
support.

I was also unable to reproduce your issue locally (without x2go), so
this might as well be a bug in x2go. I would start by trying the CLI
version of handbrake on the server. If that works, it's a bug somewhere
between Gtk and x2g0.

In any case, serious is an overinflated severity for this issue.

Cheers
