Bug#964802: blender: Blender crashes when importing movie in video editing mode

Package: blender
Version: 2.83.1+dfsg-3
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

After entering video editing mode, I attempt to add 1 or more movie strips to the sequencer. In all cases, Blender immediately crashes. The movie strips (ending in .MOV) I wish to edit seem to play just fine using mpv, so I don't think the movie strips are the problem. Below is Blender's crash report generated when starting blender with "blender -d". I can also provide more details on the movie strips if helpful.
