Bug#956738: Review the Debian patches when the next release come out
Package: libtheora
Version: 1.1.1+dfsg.1-15
I poked the upstream developers on #xiph, and got the following review
of the Debian patches currently in use:
<derf> pere: 0001 is obsolete, I'm pretty sure (autogen.sh just calls
autoreconf -isf now).
<derf> 0002 we can't take.
<pere> TD-Linux: ok. if that is the best way to spend the time, I'll do
it.
<derf> 0005 looks to have been addressed by fbb275803696?
<derf> Similarly 0006 looks to have been addressed by 7288b539c52e.
<pere> derf: why do the theora tarball need to contain the RFCs?
<derf> 0003 got applied sometime before 2010. Can't tell exactly where
because of the way the git import from subversion was done.
<derf> pere: Oh, I guess I should have looked at the patch. I thought it
was removing the actual documents from the repository.
<derf> Yeah, I'll let others give opinions on whether they need to be in
the tarball.
<pere> derf: thank you very much for having a look. I'll pass it on to
the maintainer group.
<derf> 0004 looks like it was addressed in b07a1d2ddfe8.
<derf> So I think 0002 is the only one outstanding.
Based on this, I believe we should have a closer look at the Debian
patches when a new version of libtheora is released.
